Patrick O'Leary Scholarship
 
 
 
 
The recipient of the Patrick O'Leary Scholarship will be announced at NEPS. 
 
Annual scholarship for $1000 established in 2011 by the New England Polysomnographic Society for students to help pay for their education or recent graduates to offset the expenses for the A-Step modules or cost of the registry exam. Those who are awarded this scholarship are not eligible for re-application.
 
 
Patrick O’Leary served in the U. S. Navy from 1971-1975 at the Bethesda Naval Hospital where he received education and training in Neurophysiology Medical Testing. He later was employed as a technologist in the Sleep and EEG Department at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H., manager of the EEG, Vascular Lab and Sleep Lab at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, N.H. and Director and Educator of the EEG and Sleep Lab at the Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, Maine until the time of his death. Mr. O’Leary passed away in January, 2011.
 
 
Candidates wishing to apply for this scholarship are to complete the Scholarship Application in the navigation bar and meet the following criteria:
 
                     1-Pursuing a degree in polysomnography
                     2-Demonstrate good moral character
                     3-Provide us with two reference letters from sleep professionals 
                        or teacher

Application period starts January 1 of each year and the deadline for filing is 
August 31 each year. All applications will be reviewed by the NEPS board and the candidate chosen will be announced at the annual education meeting in September.
